Plymouth Borough Civil Service Commission is administering a
Written Examination for
POLICE OFFICER
FULL TIME
The starting wage is $20.77 per hour Applicant must be MPOETC Act 120 certified, be 18 years of age or older at the time of the exam, and must be a citizen of the United States. A qualified applicant must have completed 60 semester hours from accredited college or 2 years, or active duty military experience with honorable discharge, or 2 years as a certified law enforcement officer with a minimum of 1,000 hours on job experience. Qualified applicant must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license, which shall not be suspended or revoked at time of filing application. The qualified applicant must be of good moral character and physically and mentally fit to perform all duties of a police officer. Applicant cannot have been convicted of any state or federal offense classified a misdemeanor or felony. He/She must be able to perform the job functions and possess the personal characteristic requirements adopted by the Commission.
Those who pass the exam will be required to pass an oral exam, background investigation, and voice stress test in order to be considered for an appointment as a conditional employee and then must pass the medical and psychological exam. Applicant will pay any fees associated. Passing applicants will be placed on an eligible list, which may be valid for up to one year. This list will be utilized to fill appointments when they become available.
Any applicant claiming a Veteran's preference must submit a DD Form 214 with his/her application. Proof of Act 120 Training must be submitted with application. All applicants must sign a Waiver & release for background information on the job application form. Any applicant seeking accommodation under the American Disabilities Act in any examination must submit a written request with supporting documentation from a treating physician or other qualified professional by Monday, February 13, 2018 to the Commission at the address listed at the bottom of this ad. A $30.00 non-refundable test administration fee must be submitted by check or money order at the time the application is submitted. The check or money order is payable to Plymouth Borough. Applicants who do not submit the fee with the application will not be eligible to sit for the examination.
