Applications are being accepted for the position of full-time Fire Apparatus Operator/ Emergency Medical Technician for the Newport Township Fire Department. Application forms and details of the selection process may be obtained at the Newport Township Municipal Building, Monday through Friday 0800-1500 HRS, located at 351 West Kirmar Avenue, Nanticoke, Pennsylvania, 18634 or by emailing Township Manager Joseph Hillan at Joe.Hillan@newporttownship.org
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
18 years of age at the time of testing
Current Class C Pennsylvania Operators License
Essentials of Firefighting with interior firefighting
Pumps I
Valid Emergency Vehicle Operations Course
Valid Pennsylvania Emergency Medical TechnicianBasic, or equivalent
Firefighter I & II (preferred)
Pumps II (preferred)
Test Date and Time:
Completed applications shall be returned either by electronic means to Township Manager Joseph Hillan at Joe.Hillan@newporttownship. org or in person at the Newport Township Municipal Building by Wednesday, April 30, 2025 no later than 1500 HRS.
The written examination and physical agility test will be administered on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Further details are contained in the application packet.
