FULL TIME PUBLIC WORKS DRIVER LABORER POSITION

THE BOROUGH OF WEST PITTSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY, PA is seeking applications for the position of a Full-Time Department of Public Works Driver/Laborer.
Qualified candidates shall meet the minimum requirements of being 18 years old or older, possess a high school diploma or higher degree, have a valid Pennsylvania drivers license, a CDL license, and a safe driving record.
Candidate must also have the ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds, the ability to operate Borough owned vehicles and equipment such as: pick-up trucks, front loaders, dump truck, packers, salt spreaders and snow plows; as well as the ability to operate power tools and equipment such as mowers, chainsaws, snowblower, air compressors etc. when necessary, and previous experience in performing street maintenance/repairs and snow plowing. Preference will be given to candidates with prior work experience as a DPW employee or one performing similar duties.
Duties will include mowing grass, pruning trees, yard waste removal and pick up, recycling pick up and compliance, paving, maintaining cleanliness in Public Works garage and Borough grounds, maintenance of storm water drains, sweeping and cleaning roads, park and building maintenance, and snow and ice removal.
A Pre-Employment Physical Examination, Drug Testing, and Background Check are required upon an offer of employment. This Union position also provides health insurance, pension, paid holidays, and vacations.
