Part-time Police Officer-
The Newport Township Police Department is looking for a dependable part-time police officer to supplement the full-time schedule. Applicants who can work on an as-needed basis for as little as 12-24 hours bi- weekly are welcome to apply. We will train the inexperienced officer.
The starting pay rate is $20.00/hour.

Minimum Requirements:
US Citizenship.
Physically and mentally able to perform the full duties of a police officer.
Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
High school graduate (or equivalent).
Applicant must be certified (or eligible to be certified) by the Municipal Police Officer's Education and Training Commission (Act 120) by the date of hire.

The hiring process will include oral interviews, background investigation, drug test, medical & psychological exam, and firearms qualifications.
