MUNICIPALITY OF KINGSTONCIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATIONS
ENTRY-LEVEL POLICE OFFICER
The Civil Service Commission for the Municipality of Kingston is now accepting applications to take the civil service examination for Entry-Level Police Officer. Applications may be obtained from the Municipal Secretary at the Kingston Municipal Building, 500 Wyoming Avenue, Kingston, PA 18704, or by phone at 570-288-4576 ext. 112, or by mail, or online at www.kingstonpa.org
Applications and required documentation along with a non-refundable testing fee of $30.00, check or money order made payable to the Municipality of Kingston, must be submitted by mail or in person to the Municipal Secretary.
Submission deadline is Friday
October 30, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements for Entry-Level Police Officer:
Must possess a High School Diploma or a GED.
Must have 30 credit hours of post-secondary education. Applicant may substitute 500 hours of law enforcement experience for each 15 credit hours of post-secondary education or one thousand (1000) hours of law enforcement experience consistent with general police duties may be substituted for thirty (30) credit hours of post-secondary education. Supporting documentation must be submitted with application. An applicant may also substitute a DD-214 in place of the aforementioned educational or experiential requirements.
Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
Must possess a valid drivers license.
Must be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer.
Must have completed Act 120 training and be current with training updates to within 12 months of application deadline.
Must have reached the age of twenty-one (21) before the deadline for submitting completed applications.
