Full Time Police Officer
Jenkins Township is accepting applications for Full-Time officer position which can be picked up from the
Jenkins Township Municipal Building (570-654-3315) located at
46 1/2 Main Street, Inkerman,
Pittston, PA. 18640-3103
between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The applications must be returned no later than Monday, December 23th, 2019 at 4:00 p.m.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
1). No applicant can be less than 18 years of age
2). Each applicant shall have at minimum a High School Diploma from an accredited high school.
3). Shall be physically and psychologically fit to perform duties as a police officer and be able to perform the duties and essential functions of a police officer.
4). Possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operators License.
5.) Must be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime.
6). Shall be a natural born citizen of the United States, or provide evidence of being a naturalized citizen.
7). All applicants shall be Act 120 certified in accordance with the rules of the Municipal Police Officers Education and Training Commission.
8.) Should be knowledgeable on modern police practices and methods used in crime investigation and the identification and preservation of physical evidence and knowledgeable in the Commonwealth laws, rules, and regulations.
9.) Must have ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
